Shadows are the past and identities are transient.

Estrangement addresses the notion of change and transience in identity. It questions the conventions of boundaries as the shadow grows out of its demarked boundary and then struggles to fit back in.

Ferwa Ibrahim

Ferwa Ibrahim was born in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1985. She graduated from the Beaconhouse National University Lahore, Pakistan in 2007. She works primarily in performance, sound and drawing as she addresses themes such as self-identity, home and social conventions. She aims to explore the equivocal connection between the world and herself through her rather literal ‘process-driven’ practice. She is currently living and teaching in Lahore, Pakistan.
